Festival Background

Seamus Grant Weekend Festival

Our Festival has been running for 10 years now. It began as a day of music, dancing and traditional crafts during Clonmany Festival and has now evolved into a weekend event. Thanks to the Arts Council and local support we are able to bring most of the events free to a local and wider audience. In 2020 we ran our first fully online weekend, reaching a wider audience and enjoying artists fromIreland and Scotland.

The dates for our 2021 Festival are: 8/9/10 October 21.

Venues and events

Clonmany has many unique venues for music, singing and dancing and we use each venue to suit the audiences  and artists – from the Hotel concert venue, St Mary’s Parish Hall for a Ceili, St Francis National school for workshops, to the unique Market House and of course our session pubs – McFeeley’s and The Square Bar.

The Workshops

Workshops are held on Saturday daytime and range from Advanced Fiddle, Accordeon/Banjo/tin-whilstle, etc as well as Step dancing, instrument making and repair.
